Description

The current flag of Libya was officially re-adopted on 17 February 2011, during the Libyan Civil War, replacing the green flag used under Muammar Gaddafi. It is based on the flag of the Kingdom of Libya, which was in use from 1951 to 1969. It features a horizontal triband of red, black, and green, with a white star and crescent moon centered on the wider black stripe.
