Symbolism DescriptionThe green represents the wealth of the islands of Vanuatu. The red symbolizes the blood of the pigs and the people, signifying tradition and unity. Description
The national flag of Vanuatu features a horizontal bicolour of red and green, separated by a black stripe that runs along the hoist side and forms a horizontal 'Y' shape (or chevron) towards the fly. The black 'Y' is fimbriated (outlined) in thin yellow lines. Within the black triangle at the hoist, there is a yellow boar's tusk encircling two crossed namele fern leaves.
